Question on Google free search

Hello,

Yesterday I put on my site the Google free search box (if this is its name,
dunno), then I saw that it doesn't find some content (maybe content recently
added). I thought it could search the _actual_ content of the site.

Could anyone give me some information about it?
On every site update the search will be incomplete?
How much time is needed to have it complete?

I can't go back to my previous version, because it didn't read php files.

Now I've read that Google's index is updated approximately once a month.
