Suggesting a much better alternative to Vista *is* helping in many ways.

You can parrot that mantra every time... which is, hey! what you do! But...
no, it's not helping in -any- way. And as to Ubuntu being "...a much better
alternative to Vista.." well, that's just -your- opinion. Not fact. (And,
sigh... let me point out, yet again, that I've pointed others to Ubuntu...
but on a case-by-case review of that specific user's needs. Not a blanket
"Ubuntu's better than Vista, so go d/l it" robotic response.)

Your rationalizations of why you post your "try Ubuntu" drive-by's in this
ng carry no currency. And, as previously stated, your smug, condescending,
and rude responses to those who question your motivation for posting those
"ads" here, run counter to the spirit of Usenet ng's. That's a fact.

Frank,

A sense of humor is a terrible thing to waste. Glad to see -your- sense of
humor regularly exhibited in the ng!

Being as I wrote the message, of course it's my opinion. As is this:

You don't know what others need. You only know what you need. You don't
speak for everyone. You speak for yourself.

No, that's an opinion. Let's see, I've convinced over ten people to try
Ubuntu. How many Linux users have you convinced to try Vista?

"We"? Schizoid problems again?

We...as all in this ng.

You don't speak for everyone in this ng. You are not the moderator of
this ng. You are just a loud mouthed liar and name caller, nothing more.
Don't change the subject you linux loser.

I'll do anything my little heart desires and you can't do squat about it.
List'em or shut up you liar.
Frank

If you don't believe me, I don't care.

You're true colors come shinning thru...pathological liar.
You're a village creep...a real side show freak.
Get lost you lying jerk!

Har! That's pretty funny... yet again... geez... u still don't get it...
your responses never speak to the question at hand, which is: why troll
here? So... out of your 1300 posts here, since April, you've convinced 10
people to try Ubuntu. Hmm... I wonder if those 10 people might not have
tried Ubuntu regardless of your OT posts? And you avoid responding to
accusations of posting smug, condescending, and rude responses -not- by
denying that -fact- but by slight of hand mis-direction. (In more ways than
one...) And -that- speaks volumes. For real.

That could mean as many as... err.. zero like it and stick with it.

He's probably made many more than 10 people swear never to
touch Ubuntu on a point of principle. I'm familiar with Alias
from way back and his bleating is like water on a ducks back
but I could easily imaging his nauseating behaviour making
others dig their heels in just as Jehovas Witnesses have one
reaching for a knife to sacrifice ones own children to drink
blood.

Yeah, that thought had crossed my mind also. (Folks not touching Ubuntu on a
point of principle...)

Har! Don't know if I'd go as far as your anology... and I do think his
Ubuntu jihad is pointless. It's mad crazy OT in -this- ng. And that's just
wrong. Period.

In response to the actual original question...my new laptop came with Home
Premium and does it automatically but my desktop, which was an upgrade to
Vista Business, shows the black bar also so it must have something to do with
the upgrade process. The resize solution works but its temporary.
