qttask,exe message

For the past couple of days, whenever I reboot, I get a
message (the most recent: "330:qttask.exe - No Disk"),
which gives me 3 options Cancel, Retry, Quit.

I'm using XP, and the effect of this message is that my
Windows Media no longer recognizes my D:\ drive (CD-R/W).

I suspect that my system automatically got an update or
three and loaded them.

Also, I recently purchased a CD that had a couple of
videos on it--I had no problem playing the videos, but I
could never find the names of the songs on the CD (so I
suspect that problem is with the CD-R/W drive).

I suppose that I have a couple of options: uninstall and
reinstall my CD-R/W, find the guilty update and remove
it, or I could do a registry edit (I have never screwed
around with the XP registry).

Any idea on how I can get my system to re-recongize my CD-
R/W drive?

qttask.exe:

It's a Quicktime file. Anytime you have a card reader or
USB drive attached to your system and start Quicktime it
records those drives the next time you boot if they are no
longer present it will give you that error. Go to msconfig
and un-check "Quicktime Task" from your startup. Next time
you use the quicktime player it will put it back in. As
long as the drives remain the same it will not give you
that error.

use MSCONFIG startup tab.
Deselect qttask and see if the problem goes way.
This is quicktime, and it's not critical.
