I've started using this player instead of winamp. It uses much less
resources and has several codecs including flac in addition to the standard
ones. I was curious if anyone else here has tried it and if so what you
thought about it?

I like it...cool skins and visuals...also seems to have easier and easier
to read playlist management.

I've been using it for about a week on win2k. I'm very happy with it
and am using it for my default audio player.

i use it for ages - never went back to winamp. nice skins, and winamp

with great graphics and an equalizer. Hopefully, it will evolve into
streaming radio stations, recording, etc. with the same ease and style...

QCD already supports shoutcast/icecast internet radio stations
(such as Winamp Radio).
(To listen to Internet radio: Playlist/Add Music/Enter URL for streaming
media).
You can also record them to MP3 format (Plug-ins/MP3 Plugin/
Enable Stream Saving)

I also like xmplay mp3 player. It uses even less resources
and supports streaming media playing/reording too.

Both of these players sound great. My computer is just 133 MHz
and I tried several mp3 players before I selected these two.
Many other players had performance / resource problems with
my old computer.
It helps if you don't use equalizer because it eats your cycles.
Frankly, I haven't need to use it because the default sound
quality is good enough for me.

I prefer JetAudio, which already supports all that.

www.jetaudio.com

According to this http://www.jetaudio.com/download
Freeware jetAudio 5.16 Basic is much bigger (17 MB) than
QCD and it doesn't allow MP3 encoding (payware plus version does).
So you can't record MP3 radio stations with it?

As I previously wrote in this threat QCD can record
streaming radio stations to MP3/OGG format.
