We were having some problems with our internet connection,
but apparently it wasn't anything much, because the Cable
Internet repairman was here and couldn't find anything
wrong.
Well we thought something was really wrong (he said it
was
probably a signal issue up in my middle son's room, that's
where our modem and router are) because I brought the
modem
downstairs and hooked it up to my youngest sons' computer
and it still wouldn't work! Well cable man was here, he
couldn't get it to work, put it on mine and bingo it
worked.
He said there was nothing wrong with the cable equipment
or
lines. We have never had these problems before! Well
now
I'm online and my middle son is also, but youngest son
still
isn't. His connection is working (pinged the IP) but it
will
not let him view a page, just like you're not online. The
cable man said it might be "stuck on an bad IP" or
something,
OR it could have something to do with son installing, then
uninstalling PSP7 but he only knows about Internet, not
computer systems.
He hasn't been online for anything to come of that since
before this happened.
Anyone have any theories or how to remedy this?

Hi,

Suggestions:

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and delete this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network\{}

Reboot, then enable the connection via Network Places. If this doesn't
help, re-seat the card (nic/wireless) in another slot and/or replace it.
Good luck!
