put annimated gif from outlook to my desktop but gif no longer 'm

hello

my outlook received an email with annimated gif. I save the gif file on
desktop.

But the gif is no longer annimated.

Please advise how I can copy the annimated gif from my outlook to my desktop
so
that it will remains annimated.

Are you opening the GIF file with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer?

Right-Click the file on the desktop, Open With, and select Windows Picture
and Fax Viewer.
 
You cannot. You are trying to insert a *.gif into a *.bmp or *.jpeg file which the Desktop is. If it is possible then someone could correct me.
 
I didnot use picture and fax viewer. I suspect I need to config my desktop
to handle annimated gif but i donot know which program

any suggestion?

Is the saved file still a GIF?

You said you use Outlook... is it Outlook or Outlook Express. If the
former, saved graphics are always saved as GIFs, unless you take some
measure to preserve the original form.

You say you *saved* the file on the desktop, and I presume you have
saved it as a file, not as the desktop wallpaper. If I am right, try
opening the *.gif file with an internet browser like Internet
Explorer, FireFox, or Opera.

but I want to icon on desktop the same way as withing outlook email...


.....an animated gif on my desktop?
