Publishing with FTP

Trillian

If I publish using FTP "outside" of FrontPage, like with
CuteFTP, will this break the FrontPage extensions as well?

Also, does anyone know of any problems when publishing
(uploading) via Terminal Services?

For reasons that are unclear I may have to do one of the
above to access a client's server - his set-up isn't
compatible with publishing via FrontPage and using FTP
within FrontPage generates the Access Denied 550 error.

TIA

The problem with publishing by FTP lies in knowing
exactly what files to publish. When you use certain
features, for example, FrontPage may automatically add
files to your Web site. If you don't know these files are
required, you probably won't publish them and the feature
will fail.

But if the extensions are present, you don't have to
publish by FTP.

And if they're not present, you can't break them.

As to Terminal Server, if you open FrontPage remotely on
a Terminal Server host, it works fine.
