Publishing Problem Keeps making NEW web folder

I hope somebody can help me with this dilemma.
When I attempt to publish my entire web or even just publish
one individual file I am having a weird problem

What happens it frontpage 2002 CREATES a new folder called "web" and then
uploads the items there. It does not load them into the existing web folder
but
instead makes a new one for some reason and then loads into there.

It's a real pain. I found a way to slowly work around it but it is a
bummer. Basically I publish then I have to close front page and open smart
ftp. I then
use smart ftp to move the file to the correct existing web folder and then I
have to
delete the new "web" folder the frontpage incorrectly created.

Can anybody please tell my why front page is making a new web folder and not
just using the existing web folder? I would really love to get this thing
fixed
and working properly. It used to be so easy to use and update my website and
now it's like a harrowing dillemma lol

Thanks for your help!

You web host must set up your FTP login to actually point to the folder where you want to have FP
upload your files to or you will have to use a 3rd Party FTP application, such as your current FTP
application

I followed your advice and still no fix. Let me tell you about what
happened and see if you can help me. My website was in a folder called "web"
on my host. When I upload single files or when I publish front page creates
a new web folder and puts everything in there. That's a problem.

So I went into the Hosts controls and checked the FTP login directory.
There are two choices either A. Home or B. Web. When I set the ftp login
directory to home the web folder is deleted and all of the files appear under
my domain name. With the ftp pointing to home I tried to upload and publish.
Same problem, front page is still creating a folder called web and then
uploading to that.

No matter which way I try it I have a problem If my website is in a folder
called web and I do an upload front page creates a new web folder?
If my website is just listed under my domain folder front page still creates
a new web folder and uploads there?

I can point my ftp directory to home or web it doesn't matter to me. I just
need frontpage to upload and publish to the correct directory but it won't
for some reason? Do you have any other suggestions as to what I am doing
wrong here?

You should be using the B. Web option.
