I walked into a new company that just moved over to a new virtual server host and nobody knows how to use it yet. I installed the frontpage extensions on it but i can not use the standard publish web though http. i have to publish it through ftp. is this bad. I also was wondering how i track things like broken links and things of that nature in the site from the server. I know how to do it locally but doesn't frontpage do it remotely for an already published page.

Thanks

The FP server extensions require that you http publish, not ftp. Yes, it's
bad. The extensions are most likely corrupted.

After you installed the FP server extensions, did you actually "extend"
(apply/configure) them to the web site?

If you have to use FTP, then the Extensions are not really install or not configured correctly, need
to contact web host. Publish via FTP will corrupt the extensions.

FP can track broken links on the remote site the same as it does locally, you just have to have the
remote site open in FP to use the function.

Is the domain listed in the Domain name Server system??
If not try accessing it using the http:// and the ip address. It "should" prompt you for a user
name and password which will then open your account / server space.
