Publish backup file into ?clean? space.

I installed FrontPage 2003 on a new laptop last year and am ready to publish
a backed up web into it. I will use from inside FP the window that lets me
move from the My Web Sites folder over to my external drive, select my
previous web, open it into FrontPage and then travel back and publish it
into C:\Documents and Settings\myname\My Documents\My Web Sites\the backed
up web...

The backedup web I'm working with is already in a folder with the world
icon. But there is already a folder like that already where I'm headed...(My
Documents\My Web Sites\mysite). I could have created it last year while I
was 'practicing' but I don't remember. Shouldn't the inside of a new
FrontPage area be completely clean?

Can I just delete the 'mysite' folder with the world icon (it has nothing
in it), and the other folders there? or is there a more careful way to
clean out this space?

Or do I rename the live folder already there with the name of my backed up
web name before I publish back to C:\...?

you just give it a new name when you Publish to your \My Web Sites\ ... so
you could have My Web Sites\manny, My Web Sites\moe, and My Web Sites\jack

to delete the old website...Open FP, Open Site....browse to \mysite and open
it, select the root in Folder View (it'll be the top most folder =
c:\blah\\My Web Sites\mysite then Edit | Delete and when prompted you'll
want to delete everything (can't remember the exact wording of the choice)

Steve, I always thought the My Webs (FP 2000) or the My Web Sites (FP2003)
folder held some element that gave the website a "dynamic" property. Did
not know we could place it right at C:\. I mean, I guess I thought that's
how we could come up with a live web with the world icon.
Thanks to you both for responding. I usually get nervous when I'm doing
something like this.

:I would delete mysite.
: Create a new empty web using the name of your web
: and then publish to it.
:
: Also, fwiw, I normally keep my disk based webs on the root drive.
: C:\website1
: C:\website2
:
: and so on.
