PST's randomly do not open

I have a strange problem. Outlook 2003's connection to my pst's seems to be unstable. When I open Outlook, the pst is fine; I can open it and view emails. However, sometimes I go back to the pst and I get an error that the server cannot be reached. I may not have the problem for several weeks, then suddenly it will happen several times in one day. Has anyone experienced this?

- The pst is only half a gig.

Network-hosted PSTs are not supported by Microsoft. They lead to the
problem you describe and can lead to corruption of the PSTs.
