.PST Password Prompting?

Have a user that booted up Outlook 2000 this AM and was prompted for a
password. User does not use a password and it looks like all e-mail,
folders, etc cannot be retrieved.
Ran scanpst.exe on the outlook.pst but it found nothing. Have a backup that
is 45 days old. Would like to get back to where it was yesterday. Any help
on this?
