JUST LEARNING

I have programs that are on my computer that I never use but I am afraid to
remove them in case sometime I might want them. Any suggestions on how to
free up some speed?
 
My wife is the same way. Never throws anything out because she 'might
need it one day'.
 
Uninstalling programs won't free up speed, just space.
