Programs that load on start up of machine

Brad

I'm new to the Vista Operating System. I'd like to know if there is a
similar feature in Vista to control which programs automatically load on
Start up of the machine as there has been in earlier versions of Windows OS,
or whether it is to be done within each program individually.

Thanks in advance,
Brad

You can go to Start | Search (instead of Run) and type msconfig and there you can adjust what runs at startup.

You can also use WinPatrol: http://www.winpatrol.com/.

There is a free version or a Plus! version you have to pay for. In addition
to allowing you to control what runs at startup, it will also warn you when
a new item is being added to your startup sequence, and allow you to either
approve it or not as you see fit.

You like playing with fire? Not a very stable site what you posted. Try and avoid it
or you just might get burned one time

Thanks to all who responded. Sorry I'm late in replying, but I had been
looking for responses and found none when looking on my machine that has
Vista and Windows Live Mail (WLM). (I've just now learned how to use WLM
:))
