Programs start automatically

How do I change the settings that tell the system which
programs to start at start up. My PC takes forever to
boot up and it seems like there are things running in the
background that are taking up time (and my patience)!!

Hi,
Type at start<run MSCONFIG and press enter. Flip to the startup tab and
uncheck whatever you dont want to load at startup.
