Programs slow to start

Some of my programs, ok most of my programs are very slow to start. Once
started, they seem to function at ok speed mostly. Examples are Firefox,
some graphics viewers, file management program etc. Any ideas or
suggestions. Thanks

Hi Larry,
I have the same problem with some programs : it takes about a minute for
them to show up after I have started them by clicking their icon.

One of these programs is a Microsoft program - Calculator Plus.
Another one is CCleaner, etc ...

I have mentioned this several times, I have got a lot of sympathy from the
forum members and the MVPs, but not any feedback or whatsoever from MS.
I am afraid that I am slipping away from MS slowly but surely.
Please note that I have been an MS Addict since 1986 !

appreciate the empathy - maybe we will get lucky and it will be one of
those hidden fixes that comes out of no where real soon.
