Programs automatically shutting themselves down?

My computer will start up normally and run properly, but when i open AOL
instant messanger or iTunes or other various programs, they shut down when i
try to type anything in. Thank you and please help me fix this problem

start/all programs/accessories/accessibility has the 'onscreen keyboard'. If
that works for you, you probably have a broken keyboard and/or driver for it.
