Program Updates

I have an icon in my Control Panel labeled "program updates." Symantec has
detected a virus but can't seem to get rid of it. The end result is there are
bunches of pop-ups using IE showing up all the time. Any thoughts on how to
get rid of the issue?

try other scanner, and you need to delete your restorations dates.. because
virus damage this files too and they can be reinstalled by a restoration
point; but firdt try this:
