Is there a freeware software or internet site that scans the software on
your computer and suggests the upgrades that it is missing.

I'm looking for something like the www.catchup.com service that used to be
available. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank-you.

There's BigFix <http://www.bigfix.com/> which sort of replaced
CatchUp, but it's a very poor substitute considering all that CatchUp
was able to do. It'll scan your system automatically, but I don't
recommend running it in the background. I run it about once a week
and shut it back down.
And there's Web Versions <http://users.pandora.be/mylinks> which will
probably do more like what you want (what CatchUp used to do), but
requires manually setting up, configuring and running. While it
doesn't scan your system automatically, it will be tailored
specifically for your system and programs.
Using both seems to be the best way to go.
