program shutdown

Am using Adobe elements 6 and if I shut down the program in the normal way I
cannot restart it until I have cleared it from the Task Manager Processes
tab.
If I shut the program down from the Task Manager Applications tab I can
resart the program as normal. Why does it not shut down in the normal way?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

it is likely due to your
processor not having
sufficient resources available
to clear out the process.

it happens to other programs
too like outlook express and
others.

what you can do is use a
little handy utility from
http://www.amsn.ro/

with it you can flush out the
memory of unused processes.

it's pretty handy and i use it
on occasion, like before i
hibernate.

my suggestion on how to best
use it is simply put a short
cut on the quick launch bar.

then after you close all your
programs and the processor is
not being used, run the
utility and flush out 75%.

afterwards shut it down.

you can repeat the above
several times a day, and or
until you begin to get a
clearer picture as to how your
system is handling some
applications. perhaps you
will find that more memory is
needed, especially if you are
a heavy user of graphic
software like elements that
require more system memory.

incidentally, i don't
recommend that you keep the
utility running and monitoring
your processor
all the time. it is tricky
to balance out the memory with
its need for memory as well.
