"Program Needs to Close"

Recently, I started having problems with a certain program in which some
functions cause the following error message:

"Adobe Acrobat Elements has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience."

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program but still have the problem. I
have also experienced the same problem with Internet Explorer on both my
Win98 machine (a lot) and my Win XP machine (a very few times).

I'm wondering if this has something to do with the operating system
environment. Does anyone have any suggestions?

----------

This program (Adobe Acrobat Elements 6.0) is a $40 stripped-down version of
Acrobat which came bundled with my Dell computer, so it's not eligible for
support by Adobe. I've already contacted Dell, and they don't know enough
about the program to help. The functions which don't work now DID work when
the computer was new, and in fact worked a few months ago, and I hadn't used
it since then until last week. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, but that
didn't restore the functions which had stopped working.

I looked at Adobe's Knowledgebase, and there were no relevant documents
about my problem.

This program is not available for individual purchase. I'd buy an update to
v. 7.0, but it's available only through volume licensing with a minimum of
100 seats.

This program was perfect for my needs, offering features which I need but
are not available through other free or cheap PDF creators.

perhaps you can
install the other trial
versions from adobe
into an alternate folder
than the one you have
now.

they more current releases
may function well and might
fix something for the other
one you have.

on the other hand if the
new versions don't work
either they may provide
you with the error codes or

adobe might provide help
specifically to getting those
trials working for you (which
may also fix your other
program)
