Programs won't install

I just got a brand new computer at work and I can't get any programs to
install, by cd or online. It pops up for a second like it's going to run and
then the setup window just sits there frozen until it disappears. I have
tried several different programs including Adobe Acrobat, photoshop and
others with no luck. I have administrative access to install these things,
so I can't figure out what's going on. These are all programs that worked
fine on my last computer. Any ideas?

.. See if there are any instances of Try checking to see if another
installation is already started and aborted.

1. Open up task manager
2. Click on Processes
3. Click in the check box near the bottom that says show processes from all
users
4. End process for any instances of msiexec.exe
5. Try to run install again

No luck finding anything that says msiexec.exe. Thanks for the help, though!

Call the tech support number of the manufacturer of your new pc.
