From programs outside Excel (i.e. Lotus Notes, Windows Explr) I receive the an errors "Unable to find program" and " Can not find specified file" respectivily when clicking file icon to open attachment from Notes or file in Explorer. Is this an Excel or Windows problem. I suspect Windows but I'm not sure what to do to correct. The files are accessible directly from Excel.

Make sure your file types are properly registered in
Explorer. Go to 'TOOLS' and choose 'File Options'. In
File Options click the "ile Types" tab. Find your file
extension and check the path to the executable to launch
the program. If you cannot find the file extension add it
with the path to the program executable.

Another method would be to add the directory path to your
system PATH statement, but Explorer is the preferred
method.

File Type appeared correct in Explore Tools but I re-defined anyway and now I can open Notes attachements (although Notes still complains it can't find the program, a Notes problem I assume). Craig, thanks for that help. BUT, when I click on a file in Explore Excel still says it can't find file. In fact I noticed if I've used a multi-word file name or have any spaces in the path Windows appears to try annd open each word as a separate file.
