I have an old dos CAD program that is absolutely critical to me.
I have been running this program, since '94, with no problems on 95, 98,
2000, me, and XP, up until a week or so ago. AFAIK nothing relevant changed
on the machine.
The program still runs on my laptop, which is also XP Pro, and has AFAIK,
all the same updates applied, but the laptop is way to slow for productive
work.
What happens now, is that when I launch the program, everything's fine for a
few seconds (variable) then the program is minimized. If I go back and
maximize it, it minimizes again.
I've scanned clean with Lavasoft ad-aware, Spybot S+D, and Panda antivirus.
Any ideas?
FWIW, launching a dos box and NOT invoking the program results in a dos box
that just sits there normally. So it would seem that the shortcut that I
normally use and it's PIF file can't be the problem, since they aren't used
when I invoke it like this.
