program files missing

why did my "all programs" list in the start meu not list excel and word (in my Office folder) after I added shortcut icons for these two programs to my desktop? I am stumped as to why these main programs are not on my list and how to get them back on the list. Other users cannot access these programs now (as their start memu "all programs" are missing these two also.

Did you copy or move the shortcuts to your desktop? Try copying them back
to:
Documents and Settings\All Users\StartMenu\Programs\<name of folder holding
your other office shortcuts>
