Profiles not saving.

Miranda

I have a Windows 2000 domain with only Windows XP clients.
Our Terminal Server is a Windows 2000 Server with SP4. It
has just been installed. None of my users profiles are
being saved after they logoff of the server. How do I
allow my users to change their desktop environment and
keep the changes when they logon again? Regards, Miranda.

What kind of profiles are this? TS-specific? Roaming or local? They
are not mandatory, are they? Have you checked the permissions? Is
there anything in the EventLog?

Check your policies. You might have locally cached
profiles being deleted on logout.

Hi,

I have the same problem with Windows 2000 server and pre sp4 patches.
I'm using roaming profiles not mandatory.

Eventlog: EventID 1000, Source Userenv, User NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM,
Description: (translated from Dutch)
Can't remove register file.If you have a roaming profile , your settings are
not replicated.
Details:Access denyed, Buildnr 2195

I set the permissions in the RDP configuration and restricted all kind of
things via the group policy.
The TS is only used by external users.

Regards,
Willem
