profiles and the copy to

I have xp computers on an NT 4.0 domain. The domain server crashed.
Installed windows 2000 server. Setup new accounts, joined the domain and
logged into the xp machines. Logged back out and logged in as local admin.
Went to copy the profile from the old account/domain to the new
account/domain, but the copy to button is grayed. any ideas?

Reboot and log on as the admin first.
