My husband and I use the same PC which runs Windows XP and Outlook 2003. I
have worked out how to set up two profiles with our own email accounts but
how do I do that but share the same contacts and calendar? Currently we
share one profile (i.e. how Outlook was initially set up when we installed
it).

Please could you explain in terms that a novice computer user could
understand!

Thanks

Thanks for your reply. I'm just having a look through the link you sent and
will have a go at setting it up and see how I get on.

Outlook doesn't make it easy to share calendar and contacts. You can create a new pst (file, new, outlook data file) and copy the contacts to it then put it in a location both profiles can see.

I would probably just do this to share them initially then forward the contact to him if you add one he needs. You can "invite" him using meeting requests - use the option to not require replies and set his outlook to auto acccept. Or just forward appointments as ical.

Well, I seem to have done it using a bit of trial and error!

I set up the two new profiles for my husband and myself
I went into each profile and opened the main Outlook data file
I then changed the default mail delivery to this file and then deleted the
new file that was created with the profile

Et voila....

Still to have a proper play with it but appointments and contacts seem to be
shared OK, not added all our email addresses to each profile yet though.

Thanks for the help.

If you have made the same PST the delivery location for each profile, then
it is functionally equivalent to having two accounts in one profile and you
have gained nothing.
