Profile malfunctioning.

After entering the user name and password, it gives this message before I can
see the desktop "Windows cannot load the locally stored profile. Possible
causes of this error include insufficient security rights or a corrupt local
profile. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator. " This
is a 30 second time out notice, followed by one which says windows will log
me into a temp profile, whose details will be lost when windows is shut down.

What I did to troubleshoot:
I created another account with administrator privilages. At the same time, I
gave "limited" privilages to the original account (both with different
names). This worked fine but then I wanted to see if giving the original
account admin. privilages would fix it so I went back under the new account
and gave the original account admin privilages again. Now, its asking me for
information that it would normally ask during an initial setup (i.e. MS Word
when started wants me to enter my name, etc.) and I can't locate any of my
files on my old (original) account. Did I just loose everything? Should I do
a system restore to a later point?

Please help!!

maybe you could download
from Microsoft.com the
profile hive cleaner.

issues caused by the system
can be generally fixed with the above..
