Professional: I cannot setup IIS

R

R.A.M.

Hello,
I have installed Windows XP Professional + SP2. I have done Windows Update.
I have installed .NET Framework 2.0 + VWD/VB/VC# Express Edition.
The problem occured when I wanted to setup IIS: although the installation
process looked fine, in a folder C:\WINDOWS\System32\inetsrv a file iis.msc
is missing - so the IIS do not start.
Please help me. Thank you very much.

Hi,

Did you try to insert your XP CD and then try again to reinstall IIS from
Add/Remove Windows Components. Do that and it will restore the missing files.
IF the check box for IIS is already checked then uncheck it, complete the
process and then again open the windows components and then check IIS. This
will repeat the installation process for IIS.
