Windows 8 Product key

Hi, i got two questions.
1. I have a windows 7 Professional key, is it possible to convert it to a windows 8 key??
2. I have a windows 8 key that came with my stationary pc, but it doesent work on my laptop?? i have not installed it on the stationary pc yet.
Plz help me.

1. No you can't convert it.
2. Please give a little bit more info on your stationary PC. What OS is on it, and did W8 come as a free upgrade for it ?

It was OEM windows 8, from komplett (the windows was preinstalled)
i dont have the pc anymore now,
But when i try to upgrade with only a product key I get this message: This product key cannot be used for final installation of Windows 8. (Badly translated from Norwegian)

Under the terms & conditions, set by MS, you shouldn't be able to use that OEM key on another system, only the original PC.

If you had the DVD disk, however, you could.

Manufacturers/Retailers that sell PC systems without disks should be avoided. No, really, they just cutting pennies off their cost, and that doesn't get passed on to you anyway.

damnit, looks like i have to buy it for my laptop then.
sadly no dvd followed the pc, and im not even able to install the key on windows 8 thats on my pc/laptop now.
