Product key (Certificate of authenticity label) missed

My father purchased a clone computer to a local computer
shop one year ago. Recently he tried to re-install the
WinXP Home Edition that came with the computer but the
process was stoped when the setup required the Product key
number. He looked where the label is supposed to be
affixed but it is not there. By the way, the computer
shop never affixed that label to that computer and we
never saw it. The computer shop is reluctant to provide
any assistance. Does exist a way to extract the product
key of that computer after the setup process was started?
At this moment the computer is in the computer shop but I
presume that they will not provide any solution to this
problem. The computer is in an endless loop setup process.

Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

Your only solution is to purchase a "full retail version" of
Windows XP.

process.

Nicholas,

I thought OEMs were responsible for supporting their pre- installed copies.
If this company sold them a Windows XP Preinstalled OEM copy of Windows XP
and they have proof that the computer came with (receipt) Windows XP OEM
from this computer shop, is not the shop responsible to support them?
