Is an Intel Pentium Processor as good as an AMD ANTHLON
processor? What's the difference?

In my opinion, unless you are going to use your computer
for very demanding tasks, the extra money for an Athlon is
not at all worth it. Both processors are available with
512 KB Cache, and both have the same length warranty. The
Athlon costs over twice as much for the same speed
processor.

According to priceline.com it looks like the athlon is cheaper than the
pentium.

It seems to depend somewhat on the individual chip.

Isn't Priceline.com a purveyor of travel-related stuff?

Since you quoted nothing, I can't tell what you're comparing the
Athlon to. But assuming that it's the Pentium, you have this
backwards; an Athlon is significantly *less* expensive than a
Pentium of similar speed.

I'm not really concerned about cost. I want to know which
is better and why? Thanks!

No way! AMD is cheaper than Intel.
