Hi,

i am running windows xp pro w/sp1, and all updates except for sp1, as well
as systemworks 2004. the problem that i am having is that after i exit a
program, the process continues to run. so far this has happened with
iexplorer, quicken, and aim. has anyone else seen this or know what causes
it?

Have you checked for a virus and/or
other malware?

Dave,

yes, i ran a virus scan as well as a spybot s+d and adaware scan (all with
the latest updates) and found nothing. i also ran scandisk and fixed the few
problems that it found but the issue is still happening.
