I don't know if this is a Windows problem or a Word problem but as I
have had no luck on Word user groups, I hope you people may be able to
help. I am running Windows XP home and Word 2000. When I try to open a
word file from within My Computer, the Word application opens, but not
the selected file. I then have to go back to the My Computer window,
double click on the file link again, and then the file will open. All
files open fine from within word, just not from within My Computer,
Windows Explorer, or from shortcuts placed on the Desktop. On
searching the web I have found other people asking for help with this
problem, but no offered solutions. I cannot find any mention of it on
the Microsoft website. I have tried re-registering Word by running
'winword /r' but this does not make any difference.
Any ideas or suggestions?
