Problems with VIA C3 nehemiah and .pmq >> SLD conversion

I have created a couple of XPe images for Panel PC's in the past with
minimal problems. However I have new Panel PC which has the EPIA-PD
Mini-ITX VIA C3 /EDEN board.

I have had nothing put problems with the drivers that "supposedly"
support this board. Getting a image that will complete FBA has been
difficult, and adding the necessary support applications has been
impossible as the current image is very unstable.

I have a fully functional XP Pro installation using the same hardware
with a HDD instead of the Compact Flash I require (I have no problems
with EWF or compact Flash overlays).

I have found that the TAP PMQ file that results from the XP Pro
installation contains different drivers than the XPe drivers that have
been supplied from VIA. My XP Pro installation is working well. I
would like to be able to convert my PMQ file to a self contained .SLD
file however when I do this using Component Designer it is looking for
the various components in my XPe Database. I wouldn't need an SLD file
if the components already existed.

My question is : is there a way to extract a fully self contained .SLD
file from my XP Pro installation that will allow me to import the
missing components that I can not seem to get from VIA, USR, and 3M ?
I have not been able to correlate the information from the missing
files to accurately fish out the .inf files from my XP Pro
installation. I need a proper conversion to do that for me considering
the lack of specific details.

Thank you very much for any help, this project is weeks over due when
it should have been relatively quick to complete.

In general, what you want to do is put XP Pro + all 3rd party drivers onto
the system and then run TAP. The extra 3rd party drivers will need to be
componentized as well. Did you do your TAP before or after installing the
VIA drivers?

When you have the names of the missing drivers, you can go into your XP Pro
version and using Device Manager, find the .inf for the appropriate driver.
From there, you can attempt to import the INF into Component Designer.

I ran TAP after everything was installed on the XP Pro version.
I will see if I can find the drivers using Device Manager.
It is too bad that TAP does not have an option to automatically grap
the appropriate drivers on the target image, that would save a lot of
time.

Some drivers require some massaging to get them to import correctly based on
how the developer wrote the INF file. That barrier denies 100%
automatibility (is that a word?).

Thank you very much for your feedback.

I will cross my fingers and see how it goes.

Though it's usually best to do it yourself, you can also find the drivers
already in "componentized" form available from www.viaarena.com, just simply
import them into your database. They may not be the latest versions
available however, but it can be a good way to rapidly test/deploy your image.

You'll find them under Drivers>Embedded Platforms. Pick which version of
XPe your using and download the appropriate drivers for your board.
