Problems with user accounts. Windows XP Professional.

I am the main account holder on our home pc, and I am having no problems with
that. Other than the welcome screen showing all the account holders has gone,
and we have to type our name and password into a box each log on, but the
other user accounts all have the same problem.
1. The desktop backgrounds have disapperared, even when you click on a
picture and click set as desktop background, nothing happens. It stays blue.
2. Using word, the surrounds are grey instead of white, and it won't let you
save, or save as, nothing happens.
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks

For the welcome screen issue go to Control Panel | User Accounts | Change
the way users log on or off | Check the Welcome Screen option. Ok out.

For the desktop wallpaper problem try running the edit on Kelly's site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Line 142: Allow Wallpaper/Background Changes

See the top of the page for info on running the edit.

I don't know about the word issue. You might want to post to a word
newsgroup. Look at microsoft.public.word and pick one of the groups under
that. Make sure you specify the version of Word.
