i am having problems removing programs from my computer.
if i go to add and remove programs it will identify the
program an uninstall it. the problem being is that it
doesn't accually do it. if i go to explore and manually
remove it, it is still in the add and remove list and u
can still try to uninstall it, again it will say that it
has been performed but hasn't. if anyone else has had
this problem and has been able to correct it pls let me
know.
thanx

I am having the same problem. I tried to instll Palm OS
software for my Sony Clie and the installation completed
without installing all necessary files. When I
uninstalled it, it left files behind that are keeping me
from reinstalling it.

Download RegCleaner, go thru the add/remove process, then
run RegCleaner to find and delete remaining scraps. Good
Luck

Sometimes a program has added files to its own folder later, that are
not covered by its remove, which terminates prematurely. Tidy those up
by deleting the folder, then If you have a System restore point made
shortly before installing the program (which is quite likely if you have
been evaluating it) best is to go back to that with Start - All Programs
- Accessories - System Tools - System Restore

Next best thing is to delete its folder manually, then run regedit.exe
and look for the 'add/remove' entry for it - a sub-key of
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
and delete it. That may take a little finding - start at the Uninstall,
and use Edit - Find, searching data only, for the name that appears in
the entry.

You can also manually check and delete any
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\themaker
or HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\themaker
and delete there too (be careful to leave any other products of their's
that you might want).

There is not likely to be anything significant left after that.
