A user in my office recently received a new computer. I set it up for her,
including moving her files from her old machine. I set up Outlook and
imported a .pst file that included Tasks she had on her other machine. At
first when opening Outlook she was going notifications that some tasks were
far, far overdue. The user told me that she now doesn't receive any
notifications. I looked at some of her tasks that are in progress and they
are set up to remind her, but it's not working. Things seem fine from what I
could see. I'd appreciate it if anyone would please provide some insight
into this problem. I'd like her to be able to do the following:

1) Get notifications on Tasks currently in progress
2) Get notifications on future tasks when they're created

Thank you very much.

You've probably screwed up her Outlook installation by importing. Never use
export/import to transfer data from Outlook to Outlook. If you still have
access to her old Outlook data. create a new mail profile and simply connect
it to her old data files.

Brian,

I have imported .pst files many, many times in Outlook without any problems.
I don't understand how importing a .pst file causes problems. Please
explain. Thank you.

A fairly simple Google Groups search of these newsgroups will show you the
near-daily postings about what you lose when you export and import.
