recurring tasks not updating in 2003

client has set up a tasks in outlook 2003 as a recurring task.
she then assigns the tasks to a workmate and the person then completes the
tasks, this will update on the workmates outlook but not on hers, Hers will
remain with the old task due date.

Also the same in 2007 a tick box "keep an update copy in my tasks list" is
greyed out..
why?

Where is it greyed out? In a specific Task or at the settings window?

It is greyed out in the setting window, it only gets greyed out once you
click the recurring option.

So you say it's greyed out in the settings window at Tools | Options | task
Options? If so, speak to your IT manager about why they disabled that
option.
