Problems with software and service pack 2

I've recently downloaded a demo for a PC game, Hellgate: London, but my
computer refuses to let me play. I get an error message that reads
"This game requires Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Higher."

The problem is that I have service pack 2 downloaded. Anyone have any idea
on how to fix this, or work around?

Ask the developers of the game as they are the one who should be supporting this issue

Are you sure you have SP-2 installed?
If not verify:
Right click My computer and click Properties.

If you have Service Pack 2, contact the game manufacturer and see what
they say.
You may need an update or patch from them.
