Service Pack 2 Problems

Currently I am having problems getting Service Pack 2 to take on my computer.
I can run Service pack 1 with no problems whatsoever...but when I update to
2, as soon as the windows initialization screen pops up, my computer
restarts. I can load windows via safe mode, and I am experiencing no hardware
conflicts etc. that I can see. I have played around in MSConfig, attempting
to eliminate possible driver issues, to no avail. My specs are as follows.

Update- I was given to the suggestion to download and install Service Pack 2
for IT Professionals.... now I am not able to even boot up in Safe Mode. :(
Any ideas?

XP Pro Full Install
AMD XP 4600+ 2.5 gig Processor
2 gigs of Corsair PC 5400 ram
Western Digital 10,000 rpm Raptor Hard Drive SATA
Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTC Graphics Card

I am stuck reverting back to Service pack 1 via Windows Restore Point, but I
can not install Microsoft Office without SP 2. I have deleted many key
drivers (such as graphics driver) and still the same issues. Any help would
be fantastic. Thank you.

I could be so wrong here, but have you tried installing SP2 without
anti-virus enabled?

Yeah I have disabled Norton Antivirus, and I have even tried loading it after
a wiped hard drive. Nothing seems to work that I can tell. The installation
itself was "successful", but it's thoroughly messed up on restart.

I will continue to work on this issue tonight once I get home from the
office. I printed out a bunch of potential fixes given the sites you listed.
I will post back when more info is available
