Problems with outgoing messages in Outlook 2003

I have MS Office Professional 2003 running on XP Media Center Edition. I use
Comcast cable high speed internet and I use Bluehost.com for my web hosting
and email.

I can receive incoming emails, but when I try to send, whether it's a reply
or new message, I get error messages and cannot succesfully send. The eror
message says that my outgoing SMTP provider requires secure authentication. I
have that set properly and, until recently, the settings have worked for
months without issue.

I do get a message when I begin using Outlook each time that asks me to
verify whether I want to continue to use this mail server due to some
signature issue...(I can't get it to come up right now and I forget the exact
details) but I have always clicked to continue and have not had problems in
the past. The server does require SMTP authentication, which I have set
correctly. I have tried adjusting the port from 25 to 26 which worked for a
day or two. Now neither will work. Some of my email accounts on this same
server DO work...but others do not. There seems to be no definative reason
why certiain ones do and others don't. Reinstallation of the email account
seems to be a temporary solution with some, but this is not solving the
problem as it continues to return to random accounts and very frequently.

Bluehost informed me that it may have to do with an installation of Norton
antivirus, McAfee, or "problems with Outlook 2003 that seem to occur after
installation." They did not provide further details. I have installed both
Norton and McAfee in the last month and removed both due to other issues. I
currently am running AVG antivirus and Zone Alarm Pro firewall. I also run
the MS Spyware utility. I have tried Office Updates and have all current
security updates, etc. The detect and repair option has not yielded any
positive results either.

Any and all help is much appreciated as I still have outgoing emails sitting
in my outbox from last week.

Try recreating your mail profile in Control Panel | Mail | Show Profiles and
see if that helps.
