Problems setting up outlook

I am trying to complete the setup and I am at the prompt that says

"Logon to pop.secureserver.net
Please verify that both the username and password are correct for
your mail server."

I have typed in my microsoft username and the password that I entered in and
it does not accept it. What have I done wrong? I was fine up to that point
or so I thought.

Not sure what you mean by a "microsoft username and password".
Except for Hotmail and Live accounts, Microsoft does not provide
usernames or passwords.
You should use whatever username and password was assigned
by your mail provider.
