Security Issues Setting Up Windows Mail

Hello --

I've gone thru the setup process for a new email account and have entered
all required info according to instructions from my ISP, including user name
and password. When I tell it to download email, however, I get a dialog box
from Windows Security telling me to "Please verify that both the username
and password are correct for your mail server" and providing fields to enter
each one. It never accepts may user name or password, though (am entering
the same ones I entered in the account setup process) -- after trying to
authorize, it gives me the same dialog box again.

Any help is appreciated,

Perhaps your ISP made a typo when entering the data into the server. For
this issue, your best bet is to contact your ISP's customer support line.

Fill in the details on the server tab of your email account as normal, then
try to send and receive mail, if it asks for the details again click on
Cancel, this will generate an error message, copy and paste that error
message to your reply here.
Who is your ISP & mail provider? Tell us the part only after the @ in your
email address.
