Problems scanning photos

Hey there,

I've been trying to scan a few photos in via my scanner lately. The scanner
used to be connected to the computer via the printer but now that I have a
new printer, I connect it directly to the computer. I've installed it ok but
when I try to scan an image it just gives me a black A4 sized image as if
there was nothing in the scanner to begin with (even though there is). The
scanner communicates with the printer as it should so I'm not sure how to go
about fixing the problem. Any ideas would be great.

Have you checked the support website
of the scanner mfg. for updated drivers?

Could be a waste of time, but I would
try disconnecting the printer and try
the scanner.
