Problems removing a DC

Hi

I have a DC which i want to demote so that the domain is removed from my
forest. This was a test domain which POINTS TO ITSELF FOR DNS. When I run
dcpromo and try to remove the domain I get the following error message:

operation failed because:
the directory service failed to replicate off changes made locally
the DSA operation is unable to proceed because of a DNS lookup failure.

Any thoughts? I have gone through a number of MS fixes including:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;263624

but still am striking out.

Thanks!

You need to point to the forest DNS to remove this domain from the main DNS
and forest AD.

Did that.. I have had it pointed to itself and also the forest DNS.
Currently points to itself and forest DNS as a secondary.. On the forest DNS
I do NOT see an entry for this domain? Could that be the problem?
