Problems loging into Windows 2000

Drew Kulick

My Windows 2000 machine was part of a DOMAIN and I went
and changed it to be part of a WORKGROUP.

After I rebooted the machine, I can no longer login into
the computer. It tells me my password is not good
anyomre.

I notcie now that I probably shouldn't have done this if
I didn't know exatcly what I was doing - Any help would
be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks
Drew

you need a username and password to log on to the machine
locally. previously you were being authenticated by a
Domain Controller on the network. When you switch to a
workgroup you can no longer log on with your domain
username and password. If you or someone else does not
have a user name and password for that machine you may
need to re-install. good luck!

Bring back that machine to the domain where it belongs and ask your system
administrator to rejoin it for you.

Hi, I had the same problem as above. However, I could login locally as
admin.
Can I change now the network settings as Administrator eventhough I
only want the pc to rejoin the domain if I'm logging in as USER1?

Thanx

You will still have to bring the machine back to the network where it
belongs, before you're able to rejoin it.
