Problems Logging On

We have users that have issues logging in to their desktops after being
logged out. When logging on the user sees their desktop, but the icons and
taskbar are not displayed. They have to CTRL+ALT+DEL and logoff and then try
to login again, which sometimes repeats the problem creating a loop until the
desktop finally appears. This is random, but affects some users more than
others. We have a 2003 Server AD domain that has been in place for over a
year and this problem began around the middle of August 2006. The systems do
not always show anything in the Event Viewer, but two showed an error that
when looked up pointed to the system going into standby. After ensuring that
the system was set to not go into standby through the Power Settings in the
Control Panel the users still experienced the problem.

I have been having this exact same problem for the last two weeks. Did you
find anyone who helped you? I recently switched our users from using roaming
profiles to a regular profile. I also have the user's My Documents folder
redirected via group policy to a folder on one of the servers and many of the
users, not all of them, are now coming up "offline". My user's have been
configured to redirect their My Documents folder to the server for well over
a year and I have had no problems with coming up Offline until recently.
