Problems installing

I bought windows xp for a new computer and had a friend
install it for me. now I have two xp os programs
installed and can not get on to the internet. what do I
do to format my hard drive and reinstall only one os on
the hard drive?

How to do a clean install, at the point where it shows the partitions delete
them and start over.
